Squash, baseball, wrestling on 2020 shortlist May 29th 2013, 16:16 By Karolos Grohmann ST PETERSBURG, Russia | Wed May 29, 2013 12:16pm EDT ST PETERSBURG, Russia (Reuters) - Squash, baseball/softball and wrestling made an International Olympic Committee shortlist for potential inclusion for the 2020 Games, the IOC said on Wednesday. The sports will be put to the vote at the IOC session in Buenos Aires in September with one sport winning a place on the 2020 Olympic program. Five other sports - karate, wakeboarding, sports climbing, wushu and roller sports - did not make the cut, meaning their chance of Olympic inclusion must wait another four years. "It is a good mix between team sports and individual sports," IOC Vice President Thomas Bach told reporters. "Wrestling managed to convincingly present the changes they have undertaken, both on a sporting level as well as in the organization." Wrestling was taken off the 2020 Games program in February in a shock move but with Wednesday's decision the sport lives to fight for its Games spot until September. Baseball and softball, both taken off the program in a 2005 decision, united into one federation and the move paid off as they grabbed a spot on the list. "We are humbled and honored to be considered as an Olympic sport," said Riccardo Fraccari, co-president of the WorldBaseball Softball Federation.
